This metrology course is designed for second-year LMD students. Its aim is to teach students the precision criteria for manufacturing and assembling parts, and to enable them to understand and choose, in various cases, the methods and means for checking and measuring the dimensions and manufacturing defects of mechanical parts.

L’objet de ce cours est de balayer l’ensemble des méthodes et techniques à la disposition des bureaux d’études pour acquérir des informations à la fois géométriques et thématiques sur des objets tri-dimensionnels, qui composent nos paysages urbains et naturels. Il ne s’agit évidemment pas de former des topographes chevronnés, mais bien de donner une culture technique de base pour permettre d’une part un dialogue avec les professionnels et d’autre part, lorsque c’est nécessaire, la mise en œuvre de protocoles de mesures simples.

Moving on, the program covers a diverse range of manufacturing processes, from molding and forging to precision material removal techniques like milling and drilling. It also delves into assembly techniques, covering degrees and types of assembly with practical examples like welding, bolting, and riveting. By the end of this program, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the dynamic world of civil engineering, bridging the gap between theory and practical application in the construction of our modern world.
